- If your PCs are running Windows OS: Connect 2 PCs to the Input ports marked ‘A' of each input group of the KVM with 2 USB-C cables to enable the MST mode. Connect 2 PCs to the Input ‘A'&‘B' or only Input ports marked ‘B' of each input group to disable the MST mode.
- If your PCs are running MacOS: Connect 2 PCs to the Input ‘A'&‘B' ports of each input group of the KVM with 4 USB-C cables.
- Hotkeys are triggered via a keyboard plugged into the dedicated mouse or keyboard ports.
- Emulation programming is locked and cannot be removed from mouse & keyboard ports.
- Dedicated mouse & keyboard ports should not be used for other types of USB devices.
- Use a powered USB hub to expand the number of USB 3.0 ports.
- If the wireless mouse/keyboard is “jumpy”, use a USB extender to reduce the distance from the receiver.
- Please install 2 AAA batteries before using the remote control (battery not included).
COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION
- Dedicated mouse & keyboard ports have emulation programming. Second-generation chipsets have “Passthrough Mode” to send special characters such as multimedia keys (play, pause, volume up/down, etc), which greatly improves keyboard compatibility.
- Keyboard software such as Logitech Options, DAS Q, Corsair iCUE, etc conflicts with the emulation programming and limits the ability to use dedicated macro keys. We recommend using the KVM’s USB 3.0 port as a workaround if this software is desired. The USB 3.0 port does not have emulation programming and therefore the KVM will not recognize hotkey switching commands. Please use a powered USB hub to expand USB connectivity, if needed.

It's been a month and I can absolutely confirm that this KVM was the one I needed. I've been using it constantly, I've got both my MacBook Pros (work and personal) connected, both monitors, a Jabra speakerphone (b/c work meetings), my split keyboard and mouse, and my webcam. Everything works seamlessly. Sometimes I wake up one of the laptops and one screen doesn't automatically wake; it is always solved by either changing sources to another computer and back, or by turning the KVM off and on (and because the switch is in the front so it's very convenient). My laptops are hanging in metal folder holders/sleeves on the back of my desk (because my desk is in the middle of the room) and I can take either of them out by unplugging two side-by-side USB-C Thunderbolt cords at the same time, and put them back in just as easily. In my dream world I'd have one of those adapters that takes in two USB-Cs and outputs a single form-factor of two USB-C inputs spaced for the MacBook Pro - I've seen them on some of the other KVMs/docking stations but haven't had any luck finding them in the wild. So it takes maybe a tiny bit of fiddling to plug them both in at the same time, but not anything that takes me more than like 1.5 seconds.
I had my Raspberry Pi w/ touchscreen hooked up for a while so I could configure homeassistant, with absolutely no issues to use the keyboard/mouse. I also have my Nintendo Switch dock hooked up - right now the resolution doesn't work on my ultrawide (though I've seen some posts that say it can work, I just haven't spent a lot of time to fix it). Now that the touchscreen Pi lives downstairs as a homeassistant interface, I have a set of ports open for any other fun things I want to try (I have some old computers floating around that I want to turn into file servers/media servers, so being able to plug them right in and configure them and then take them where they'll live once they're done is VERY appealing). Still tbd: setting up my streaming stuff for the Switch, I haven't done it in a long time, maybe years, but if I could get it set up again, I might start again. Plus if there's a way to rig it through the KVM maybe I could stream other stuff too (WoW, coding, etc.).
All in all, I just wanted to come back and report complete success.
